Richard has over eight years experience in advising clients on a large range of transactions including restructuring, disposals and acquisitions (M&A) in Australia, the United Kingdom and Africa.

Richard joined KordaMentha in 2009. Prior to this Richard worked at a leading Sydney based boutique investment bank offering advice to a number of ASX 100 listed clients; in the corporate finance team of an investment bank focussed on African M&A transactions and at PwC London.

Richard has worked on numerous advisory assignments including restructuring outside of insolvency, independent accountant reports, pre-lending reviews, litigation support, cost reduction reviews and strategy advice roles across a variety of industries, including utilities, infrastructure, retail, construction and commercial real estate.

These include advisory assignments for bank syndicates and reviews of organisations with complex finance structures.

Areas of Specialisation - Richard has experience in financial consulting on a wide cross section of industries and in all facets of financial and operational analysis and investigations. This experience includes:

Restructuring outside of insolvency
Financier and bank syndicate workout advisory
Due diligence reviews on proposed purchases, sales and divestments, including complex carve outs
Financial, operational and strategic diagnostic reports
Financial forecast reviews

Significant Engagements

Restructuring Outside of Insolvency - Alinta Energy - As adviser to the banking syndicate to facilitate the restructuring and take private of the business via four interdependent schemes of arrangement
Macquarie DDR Trust - Insolvency implications, budgeting analysis and options and recommendations to lenders
Chapter 11 - Readers’ Digest - APAC subsidiaries in conjunction with AlixPartners in the US
Voluntary Administration - Griffin Coal – voluntary administration and as adviser for the sale process
