John is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has over 16 years experience in corporate recovery and insolvency, corporate advisory and performance improvement projects. John has also completed a number of short to medium term secondments in the risk areas of major Australian and UK banks.

John’s primary areas of expertise are in managing large scale, complex engagements in formal and informal scenarios. John has been involved in major formal insolvency engagements in mining, agriculture and forestry and has completed numerous independent business reviews for banks and banking syndicates with exposures in oil and gas, mining, agriculture and viticulture and aviation. John has also worked directly with directors on performance improvement, turnaround and cash management proiects. 

John has completed almost two years of secondments in two major big four banks in Western Australia and a UK bank.  These secondments gave John invaluable insight into the criteria for identifying a deteriorating credit early, proactively implementing a robust strategy to achieve a timely and positive outcome for the bank and managing the balance of relationships both internal and external to the bank.
