Alex joined KordaMentha in January 2010 and has over 10 years’ experience in chartered accounting firms. He has practiced forensic services for the past seven years both in the United Kingdom and Australia.
His extensive experience includes:
- Preparation of an expert witness report and giving evidence in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in relation to a dispute over the future value of a loan
- Assistance in the preparation of numerous expert witness reports regarding quantification of loss arising from contractual disputes, quantification of loss arising from disputes over the valuation of businesses and the alleged falsification of accounts
- Investigations into financial ‘black holes’ and mis-stated accounts at listed entities
- Investigations into fraudulent claims by contractors
Significant Engagements
- Preparing an expert witness report and giving evidence in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in a dispute over the future value of a loan.
- Consideration of the alleged falsification of a company's accounts (and whether those accounts were prepared in accordance with accounting standards), causation and economic loss issues in relation to a defamation claim against a leading Australian newspaper.
- Assessment of costs spent by a government agency in a failed major transport project.
