Automotive Components Limited ('ACL') manufactures and distributes engine components for the Australian, New Zealand and North American automotive industries. ACL has approximately 320 staff and operates from four plants in Launceston, Tasmania and one plant in Eagle Farm, Brisbane.
Craig Shepard and Leanne Chesser of KordaMentha were appointed Voluntary Administrators of ACL and three of its non-trading subsidiaries ('ACL Group') pursuant to Section 436A of the Corporations Act 2001 on 26 August 2009.
Greg Keith and Matthew Byrnes of Grant Thornton were subsequently appointed Receivers and Managers of the ACL Group on 26 August 2009 by a secured creditor.
The ACL Group is continuing to trade under the control of the Receivers and Managers. They will be solely responsible for and will determine all issues relating to the ACL Group’s ongoing operations and the manner in which assets are dealt with.
