Vision 2020
Vision 2020 Australia is the peak body for the eye health and vision care sector, leading advocacy efforts within Australia and globally, and raising community awareness about eye health and vision care.
Vision 2020 provides a collaborative platform for its members - representing sixty organisations involved in local and global eye care, health promotion, low vision support, vision rehabilitation, eye research, professional assistance and community support. Established in October 2000, Vision 2020 Australia is part of VISION 2020: The Right To Sight, a global initiative for the elimination of avoidable blindness.
The Global Consortium is a partnership of nine Australian eye health and vision care organisations working to eliminate avoidable blindness and vision loss across seven countries throughout the Asia Pacific region. A Partnership Framework has been developed with AusAID to ensure effective implementation of the Australian Government’s Avoidable Blindness Initiative. The partnership building taking place under the Consortium represents the strength of collaboration within the Australian eye health and vision care sector.
