Chain Reaction Challenge

Chain Reaction is the Ultimate Corporate Bike Challenge that raises money for sick children by challenging senior executives who have a passion for cycling and an awareness of their corporate and social responsibilities, to ride a 1,000 plus kilometre course in 7 days. Since its first ride in 2007, Chain Reaction has raised over $5 million on behalf of its charity partners.

Chain Reaction is not a mass-participation event; instead it concentrates on selected individuals who want the physical challenge. In return, they benefit from valuable networking opportunities and the immense satisfaction of directly helping sick children through charities such as the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Monash Children and Brisbane Royal Children's Hospital Foundation and the Victor Chang Research Institute.

In 2012 there will be a Chain Reaction Challenge in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland with the three events targeting a total annual raise of $3 million.

Chain Reaction was founded in 2007 by KordaMentha managing director, Berrick Wilson after his daughter was rushed to hospital with a brain haemorrhage when she was 2 days old. A number of our people and their families have participated in the event over the years and KordaMentha is one of the corporate partners of the Chain Reaction Foundation, sponsoring one of the teams.

This year we have 4 staff members participating alongside Berrick: Robert Hutson, John Park, Frazer East and Tyson Gunderson. Read more about the 2012 Chain Reaction Challenge.
